FAQ

Questions practices ask about credentialing and eligibility software

Is Verivane HIPAA compliant?

Verivane is built with HIPAA safeguards: per-user logins with 2-step verification, automatic sign-out, encrypted secrets, private document storage, an audit log of who viewed patient data, and patient data that is never cached on devices. We sign a Business Associate Agreement with every practice.

Which practice management systems does it work with?

All of them. Upload the daily appointment export from athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Tebra (Kareo), DrChrono, AdvancedMD, NextGen, Epic, Practice Fusion, CareCloud, Office Ally or any other system as Excel or CSV. Verivane recognizes the columns automatically. athenahealth, Epic, eCW, NextGen and DrChrono can also connect directly.

How do insurance eligibility checks work?

Verivane sends a standard eligibility request (X12 270) to the payer through a clearinghouse and reads the answer (271): active or not, copay, deductible remaining, coinsurance and prior authorization flags. It then estimates what the patient owes.

Does Verivane check the OIG exclusion list?

Yes. Every provider is checked monthly against the NPI registry, the HHS-OIG exclusion list (LEIE) and SAM.gov, with state license lookups. You get an alert if anything changes.

Can a billing company manage many practices?

Yes. Billing and credentialing companies get a client portfolio: one login, a roll-up dashboard across every client, and alerts from all of them in one inbox.

Can Verivane read my ERA / 835 files?

Yes. Upload 835 electronic remittance files from any clearinghouse or payer portal (or a payment spreadsheet). Verivane reads every claim and line, explains each adjustment code, lists denials to work and compares each payment with your contract rates to find underpayments.

Does Verivane check claim status automatically?

Yes. With a Stedi clearinghouse key, open claims are checked with the payer every night using standard 276/277 claim status transactions. Rejected, missing and denied claims are flagged with the next step, and timely filing deadlines are tracked per payer.

Can I turn the AI off?

Yes. Every AI feature (denial explanations, appeal letters, prior auth requests, estimate suggestions, report summaries and more) has its own on/off switch, for the whole platform and for each practice.

Is there a plan for a solo provider?

Yes. The Solo plan covers one provider, and the Free plan tracks deadlines for up to two providers at no cost.

What happens after the free trial?

Pick a plan and pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, bank transfer or check. Your data stays in place. If you don't pick one, nothing is charged. Yearly plans include two months free.
